Commuters and international tourists at key Gautrain hubs in Johannesburg stepped inside virtual gateways, discovering South Africa's rich sights first-hand. Through a close partnership between South African Tourism and Virtual Reality South Africa, we deployed high-performance VR headsets, inviting participants to explore Kruger Safari tours, Soweto streets, and cultural dances spatial-first.

Setting the Scene

Bright and early, our professional team from Virtual Reality South Africa began configuring highly visible VR hubs at Gautrain stations. Our objective was simple: capture the attention of busy daily travelers, letting them travel across Table Mountain, Kruger, or Soweto while waiting on the platform.

As people arrived, they were warmly welcomed by our experienced activation staff, who guided them through their initial headset adjustments. Our technical expertise guaranteed that even absolute VR first-timers could immediately focus on the stunning sights. Seeing people face-to-face with elephants or spatial dancers was beautiful.
